...moving and poignant solo...
- The Globe and Mail; August 23, 2006: Paula Citron
"I am far, far beyond that island of days where once it seems I watched a flower grow and counted the steps of the sun."
- Elizabeth Smart
Memories and remembrance, in the process of looking back how much of the memory is untouched, how much changed, which details lost or added? How often do we repeat ourselves without recognizing the echo? The imagery of this solo develops through a series of structured improvisations. The performance is amidst a sea of over 600 origami cranes, which transforms the space and creates a distinct poignant experience. The imagery of this solo is based on text excerpts from the famous Canadian short novel, "By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept", written by Elizabeth Smart.
